On this half-day journey at Shah Alam's National Botanical Garden, get out of the city and into nature. A comfortable air-conditioned vehicle takes you from your hotel to the entrance of National Botanical Garden. Skipping the line, go right into the park and get your mountain bike. Pedaling slowly, your guide will lead you under the beautiful towering trees, past flowery gardens, and along quiet lakes.
Stop for a closer look at exotic and bizarre specimens along the way, such as the rain tree's umbrella-like canopy and the strangler fig's intricate, twisting trunk. Inhale the fragrant aromas of tropical fruit trees, savory herbs, and enticing plumerias.
Take a break and walk through the elegant Sunken Garden’s swirling, manicured shrubs. Wander through the Orchid Garden, which houses a staggering 800 species of orchids. Later, relax near one of the park’s waterfalls or fish ponds, and watch local birds splash around.
Back on your bike, go to the deer park to view the world's tiniest hoofed mammal, the mousedeer. Along the walk, you'll see a variety of species in the park, including lively langurs and macaque monkeys. After a day of exploration, your guide takes you for an easy hike up Bukit Sapu Tangan for sweeping views of Shah Alam city before you return to your hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
